end up dead.
- A family of mixed racial descent is burned alive
- A woman
looks for her children in the swamp with a lantern
- The statue of Frances
Marion weeps after a full moon
- a wealthy black man and a white female
teacher look for eachother on campus
Hoax Ideas Today:
- Library built over slave burial ground
- Prominant man, against his will, drowns his mixed racial daughter in a well near the Nursing building and she comes by interacial couples looking for her parents
- The grave markers are false and the real graves are elsewhere
- Hydrogen Bomb testing was meant to wipe out the area, but it didn't
- The loveletters are photocopied and sent around campus. If you receive it, you must make photocopies and send it out within 48 hours. If you don't do it, bad things will happen to you.
For next Class...
1) Research your hoax. What makes a good Hoax? What are some of the pitfalls that prevent a hoax from really being memorable?
2) Come up with an idea for your group. What does your group do for the hoax? What do you stage? Website? Twitter Account? Fake historical documents? Fake sightings? Fake camera phone pictures? How do we Blair Witch this sucker? Here are some ideas from a variety of different sources:
